Since 2016, Timothy Riley has served as the Sandra L. and Monroe E. Trout Director and Chief Curator for America’s National Churchill Museum at Westminster College. During his tenure he has expanded the Museum’s collection, exhibitions, programs, publications and underscored the continued relevance of Winston Churchill’ legacy in today’s world.
Winston Churchill and the Power of Prose
American broadcaster Edward R. Murrow once quipped that Winston Churchill “Mobilized the English language and sent it into battle.” Churchill’s mastery of the English language informed and inspired Britain during the Second World War. His speeches and writings played an important role in the Allied victory during the war and throughout his long and storied career. Discover how Churchill used the power of prose to win the war and preserve the peace.
This program is offered as part of “Churchill 2024,” a global commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Winston Churchill’ s birth.

Pre-registration and payment (via PayPal Account, Venmo bank transfer) for the breakfast must be received by Monday, November 18, 2024. If you have paid for the in-person breakfast and find that you are unable to attend, you may watch the webinar live via the Zoom link or later via the Zoom video recording link. You must request access to the live link by contacting Mary Leuci no later than the day prior to the breakfast.
